Atheists display a picture of the Twin Towers on a sign that say "Imagine no Religion"
VERNON – The sturdy white sign in Rockville’s Central Park asking passers-by to "Imagine No Religion" has generated some calls, a few of them angry, to town hall. There have also been calls to local clergymen and discussion in businesses along Rockville’s West Main Street.
The sign — some call it a billboard — was erected on Dec. 1 by the Connecticut Valley Atheists, and as of Thursday was the only display erected in the town’s center to mark the holiday season, aside from a Christmas tree just across from the town hall and some garland and white lights wrapped around light poles.
Yes why can’t religious people act more like Stalin, Pol Pot, Mao Tse Tung, and the other enlightened atheist leaders of the last century. How thankful we are for the start of the French Enlightenment which was called the Reign of Terror for some odd reason.
I think their sign would be better with the caption "Imagine no bad theology" since that is mostly what the problem is for Jihadists in the first place.

Or “Imagine correctly practiced religion”
As it says in the Catholic Evidence Guild Training Outlines …
“Bad Catholics: these are not the “fruits” of the Church, e.g. as you judge a medicine by those who take it, not by those who pour it down the sink, so the Church must be judged”
Sooo, “Imagine no religion” is fine, but “Pray for Life” is too controversial a billboard? Is anyone playing the Twilight Zone theme?
The fellow responsible for this is quite a character:

I think his atheist club has at least five members! I would like to see another billboard next to this one that says :”….”No religion” is imaginary”.
I wonder if he should be asking the soldiers fighting for him to imagine “no religion”. If only the soldiers would drop their rosaries, Bibles, and Korans just as he suggests.
Watch how soon his country becomes the type of place where he can only imagine one religion.
I could just see another display next to it.
It would have Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot, Mao, and such. Then the caption “They did”.
Thanks, Jeff –
Great post. If you don’t mind, since it’s so short and so perfect, I’m going to quote it at my blog and link to yours.
In Vernon, it would appear, the office of “Village Idiot” is a voluntary position, as it should be, and is currently filled.
Imagine no people this callous.
Read “The Politically Incorrect Guide to the Bible”.
The author lists – in the first or second chapter – the atrocities irreligious or anti-religious groups have perpetuated in the name of secularism
Namely, 170 million people died in the 20th century alone, at the hands of such regimes (Communists, Nazis, etc.). For the math challenged out there, that’s 1.7 million people per year, every year, for one hundred years.
Many of these people were killed simply for having faith – priests and nuns dragged out of churches and shot in the street, groups of faithful laity rounded up and imprisoned, etc. How many martyrs did the 20th century create?
Yeah.
Imagine a world with no religion. And way fewer people.
Morons.
I hate to throw ad hominem’s but I used to do some work in Vernon/Rockville, and, if they were going to give the workd an enema, they’d stick the hose in there…
Of course, that is IMHO
In my neck of the woods, it was amusing to to watch several “humanists” stockpiling water/canned foods & buying up all the duct tape and saran wrap in the wake of 911…their actions speak much louder than their words.
