With the Pope again taken to the hospital because of a relapse from the flu, leave it to Reuters to again take the opportunity to print a "Chronology – Life and times of Pope John Paul II." They did this last time also with a list of important dates ending with an ominous sounding entry of the Pope being taken to the hospital as if this is the final coda to his life. These lists seem more like wishful obituaries than anything else.

It’s no wonder he’s relapsed, because in spite of his age he never will take the rest he needs. I don’t care about Reuters: the Holy Father, God bless him, has buried most of his eulogists (not to speak of his dyslogists, if there is such a word), and I daresay he’ll see a few more of them underground before he goes to his reward.
Don’t fret it, just view it as: “The Making of a Saint”. 😉
Reuters also has an even more depressing headline: “The world watches Pope John Paul’s gradual decline”
