I must truly thank Dan Rather for Rather Gate since it gave me an opportunity to parody it. I would also like to thank those who linked to MS Forger.

I haven’t had so many hits since The Corner linked to me last year. So it is time to break out The Litany of Blog Humility again.
Some of the various comments I have read had some good suggestions. Mainly along the lines of a Mac version and versions for other operating systems. One person suggested the title of iLied for the Mac version. Thinking about an open source solution for forgery might require an operating system to go along with it (Open Source Forgery) and obviously the code would be maintained on the developers site SourceForgery.net. Now my idea for this operating system would be called Lienux and it would be built around the core system code -code named Killian. As in Lt Kernel Killian. There would also be different distributions with different features built on the same Kernel Killian.
Magic Hat Lienux – Developed by the CIA agent who accompanied John Kerry into Cambodia. This version might be vaporware.
Rather Lienux – Kindergarten school version only since documents developed could only fool 60 Minute II producers.
Kerry Lienux – This one has actually in development for over thirty years but the only real coding occurred during a four month period by a Vietmanese programmer. Unstable version since modules load then unload and the error code only says "did you know I served in Vietnam?"
Pajama Lienux – Ideal for hosting blogs.
Edward Lienux – Doesn’t really do much but you better read the EULA carefully or you will end up in court.

Like the ideas, but love the litany of humility most … a real classic! Congrats on the attention, you deserve it for more than MS Forger, although that IS a stroke of genius.
face it Jeff – your stuff is gold.
Got this month’s This Rock – good article.
Hey, on a related note, Akin has exposed another forgery over at his blog.
Ha, I see I wasn’t alone in thinking that “MS Forger” a hit. That one definitely deserved a wide audience. The blogosphere is a meritocracy where the funniest bits get moved on up (say like the Jefferson’s theme song).
