On Saturday, June 28 Robert Francis Ray – known locally as simply Robert of the Paul Roberts Salon, one of Boca’s more upscale beauty salons – fulfilled a life long ambition and was ordained as a priest in the Order of Melchizedek by the Most Reverend Terry Gordon Villaire, presiding Bishop of the National Catholic Church in North America. Fr. Robert is now a priest of G-d for the people of G-d. Fr. Robert is also the Community Servant of the Province of the Apostolic Society of Franciscan Communities.
The Reverend Robert Francis Ray, SFI, or Father Robert as he is now entitled to be called, was born in 1953 in Monrovia, California and completed his theological studies at the Sanctus Theological Institute in California. Fr. Robert’s seminary degree is a Licentiate in Sacred Theology. Fr. Robert also holds a number of other secular degrees.
As a priest he will serve G-d’s people with extra emphasis on the disenfranchised, unwelcome and those that feel separated from a faith community.
His many clients will be relieved to know that he will not give up his Present calling but will fulfill his priestly duties in his time off from the salon.

Wouldn’t a beauty salon owner becoming a priest in the National Catholic Church be a hairesy? It’s no surprise that working around split ends would make you tend towards a schismatic church. Now I usually don’t attack beauty salon owners. My attitude is “live and let dye.”

Interesting post and thanks you for writting this post.
Does this church have the rite of confession? If so, he’ll soon know what it’s like to have his own hair stand on end.
I wonder what his style will be as a homilist?
You think he’ll be one of those holy roller types?
Takes all types to get The Message out – mustn’t let a single soul fall through the (hair)net, you know.
Will you need to make an appointment for confession, or are walk-ins welcome?
Instead of a schismatic, wouldn’t he be a frizzmatic?
Do you suppose he’ll tease his parish? Or just comb through looking for souls to save? Or maybe just give them a little snip-it of Scripture?
Guess that makes him a full-time bleacher and part-time preacher.
Okay, I’ll go away now…
The Barrister,
Very punny. Now your messing in my territory and I wish I had come up with them first.
Sorry! It rubs off… can’t help it.
I thank you for taking time to enjoy the pundits about my ordination to the priesthood. For those that care to know, I’m NOT a schismatic, I love and revere the Holy Father, I just don’t happen to be Roman, but I am ordained as a priest by an Apostolic successor. Rome sent their envoy to pray over me, so did the Anglicans, so did the Orthodox rites. There were more than 20 priests there. They didn’t find it hysterical, and the miracles that have come from my priesthood, in 5 short weeks aren’t hysterical either. God is powerful and so is His Blessed Mother.
In his defensiveness, Mr. Ray demonstrates his lack of proper formation for the priesthood – a fact which led to his being permanently removed from the Franciscan community he once professed to serve. Mr. Ray was ordained by schismatic bishop Terry Villaire, under intentionally deceptive intentions, thus invalidating his ordination. His self-serving agenda became apparent with the self-aggrandizing press releases, and his lies above (“Rome sent their envoy to pray over me”). Neither Rome nor the Anglican Church acknowledged or “sent” anyone to attend. I know, my wife and I were the guest of Mr. Ray’s former religious superior. Had Mr. Ray bothered finishing his seminary studies, he would know what being schismatic was. Had he any integrity, he would not have launched a smear campaign against his former order and superiors… but then he is known as the most arrogant mediocre hairdresser in Boca Raton, so why should his performance as a make-believe priest be any different!
What online seminary graduated Father Ray? In any event, who could say more than The Barrister? Seems, apostolic succession is very important to them, except where it really counts. No matter, there have, and always will be, fringe groups living off of the Church and claiming loyalty while making exceptions to fit their own agendas. Kudos to those among them who do try to live a faith. Sadly, some of God’s people are lead astry by deception. If origins are so important the, some of them might want to make sure they aren’t that well known.
