I heard part of a speech by Walter Fritz Mondale the other day where he
talked about the current economy. I really miss the days of Carter/Mondale where
we had 21 percent inflation and real high jobless rates. I think he would be a
real valuable voice on economic ideas along as you do exactly the opposite of
anything he recommends. Mondale once allegedly replied to Dan Rostenkowksi “Look
at ’em, we’re going to tax their *** off.”
Rich Galen had an article
on the Mondale Myth where he listed the following.
*
Let’s review Mondale’s career:
– APPOINTED to be the Attorney General of
Minnesota. Won re- elections as an incumbent.
– APPOINTED to the U.S. Senate
after Hubert Humphrey became Vice President. Won re-elections as an
incumbent.
– SELECTED as Jimmy Carter’s Vice Presidential running mate in
1976.
– Served one term in what was arguably NOT one of the greatest
administrations in the history of the Republic.
