Nice article on the life of Carmelite Nuns in Sioux city.
Though I think the reporter has an overly idealistic view of religious life.
Theirs is a lifestyle free from distraction; one lived on the other side of the these golden bars; one dedicated to God.
Religious life is not free from distraction. Reading the lives of the Carmelite saints I have been disabused of the notion of some perfect community living in a cloister.

I think that community life would be pretty demanding. Can you imagine living in cloister with the same people for the rest of your life? There has got to be some personality conflicts that have to be put up with I would imagine.

Why does this remind me of marriage?
Love conquers all, both our love for those we live with, and, when that seems to be running short, the love of Christ.
