I received an email from Tim Drake of the National Catholic Register with a request to promote this poll.
f you’re anything like me, you love movies. The National Catholic Register is partnering with its sister publication, Faith and Family Magazine to conduct a Catholic Movie Poll. We’re looking for nominations for the top movies that celebrate Catholic life. We don’t seek to repeat the excellent lists of films that treat of Catholic themes. Rather, we want to recognize popular movies that show how attractive Catholic life can be. What movies make you proudest to be Catholic?
The results from the poll will be published in both the National Catholic Register and Faith and Family Magazine in the fall.
This poll will run through June 28th. The first part of the poll will solicit nominations. On June 21, the second phase of the poll will kick in. At that time, readers will be able to vote for their favorites among the final nominees.
If any bloggers would like to promote this poll. I have placed their banner ad on some web space and you can use the following code to place the banner and the URL to this poll.

Those with smaller post boxes should know that they can shrink the “width” measurement in your code to fit in the banner ad. I scaled it back to 400 for mine with good results.
AAAGHGHGHHGH!!!!
I didn’t read the fine print, and so I voted for three arthouse films “that treat of Catholic themes” instead of “popular movies that show how attractive Catholic life can be.”
I mean, THE SON, THE PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC and BREAKING THE WAVES are all masterpieces, but none of them make Catholic life especially attractive — in fact, two are martyr stories.
