I find it interesting that the burning of 9 Baptist churches in Alabama within the last week has received so little coverage. Earlier this week within one day five churches were set afire and now the same has happened to four more rural Baptist churches. One headline though made me laugh "Alabama church fires called suspicious" – ya think? Maybe the fact that this fires are not along racial lines is the reason for the lack of reportage. Whoever the culprit is is an equal opportunity arsonist.

I had to shake my head at one article that said, “It may be arson.” Really, I thought a dragon just rampaged across Alabama.
How much d’ya think we’d hear from the MSM if nine American mosques were sit ablaze instead?
If burning 9 Baptist churches is not sufficient to make the Baptists riot like a rabid pack of muslims, I wonder what is? Perhaps if someone drew some insulting cartoons of John the Baptist?
Still, it is likely that the fires are not actually arson. Probably some of the congregants were on-fire-with-the-spirit and stood too close to the choir vestments.
this is the first I have heard of the Baptist fires
Ubi– didn’t you see the shots on the five o’clock news of the rioting Baptists setting fire to…. something? You didn’t? Me neither. Come to think of it, back on the Long Lent of 2002 when there was no shortage of anti-Catholic cartoons in the papers, I don’t remember rioting or torching either.
Hmmmmm…
Who let the Poor Clare Nuns of Perpetual Adoration break their cloister again?!!
Hmmmm?
The story was prominent on the NBC news tonight. Got a whopping 7 seconds!
When this happened down in Ocala and other Florida towns several years back, it didn’t get much coverage except locally. One lone crazy guy.
They may be afraid to give the guy too much attention. But then again, they may just not be interested. There are lots of church arsons, sad to say.
I agree had this been Synogoges, Mosques, or Black Churches the news would be reporting this around the clock. We would be hearing all sorts of news reports how stupid red state Americans haven’t changed a bit sine Reconstruction and are on some sort of hateful rampage.
Margaret, I do remember rioting & burning things at the nominally catholic school University of Dayton, but that was because the basketball team won a game. I think Catholics in particular have an aversion to burning things, but this shouldn’t extend to non-Catholic Christians. I mean – Guy Fawkes’ Day? Hello!?
