Ankara. The Turkish special services arrested a group of extremists who had prepared an attack against the head of the Papal Council for Encouraging of Christian Unity Cardinal Walter Kasper, RIA Novosti reports citing Sabah. The attack should take place during the future visit of Pope Benedict XVI in Turkey. The material based upon special services’ claims doesn’t point out details about the identity and nationality of the arrested.

That’s the ironic thing about all of this. The quote from the pontiff said that Islam was a violent and irrational religion. He apologzed, and that wasn’t good enough. They don’t want to talk, and they DO want to hurt the pope. That seems violent and irrational. How can you talk to a group of religious that, every time you challenge them, they blow up a building and protest?
Yeah, even more ironic is the people who stopped this attack are probably Muslim, thus negating your nonsense about Islam.
Seriously, judging Islam on the basis of these few people is nor more moral than someone accusing Catholics of being child molesters because of the priests, or terrorists because of Guy Fawkes.
And if I did that, what would you all do? Hoot and hollar just like the Muslims.
The police prevented the attack not because of their religion. They know that if someone is killed Turkey will never get into the “Christian Club” (as they put it), the European Union. Muslims hate Christians and Jews from the beginning because their pedophile prophet, a moral reference to this kind of people, hated them as well. Islam is full of rage and fury against us. That is not accidental, it is theological.

I just love people like hoodlum. They’re crusaders who claim to be out to expose the hypocrisy of everyone else. However, while they seem to be good at semantics, their logic, philosophical discourse, and argumentation leave much to be desired. In essence, from a discursive viewpoint, at least, like all anarchist, they soon become everything they claim to hate. By saying he refiles the Bible and the Koran (one can only assume the Upanishads and Vedas as well) under fiction only serves to prove all hoodlum is is an equal opportunity hater…an inconsequentially small person with a very big chip on the shoulder.

Dean, that post does not prove that I think all Catholics are terrorists. Such a position is unsustainable regarding the Ustashi given only 1-5% of Croatians supported them. Thus if only 5% of a tiny population of Catholics supported them, then why would assume wider the Catholic body supported their beliefs? I wouldn’t.
See, again, maybe I need to put in coloring book format for you, but I trot out the Ustashi (and starting soon, Tiso) example whenever you all get uppity and sanctimonous and start bashing Islam and acting so self-righteous, as if your religion is any better. Actually FR BP, I don’t think seen a “vedas” in B&N. However, because of time constraints, I am usually limited to moving Korans and Bibles, though I occasionally get the Torahs.

Is amusing given how often the Catholics here debunk my views. Wait, they don’t. They attack me for being a “Muslim” like Sister Yesterday, or a “secularite” or conjure up some other nonsense to blow me off, without having to prove me wrong, because they cannot.

First, Hoodlum, if you are refiling the Bible, you are also getting the Torah in as well; being that the Torah (or Pentateuch) is the 1st 5 books of the OT….But I’m sure you knew that already.
Second, I do not believe you to be a Muslim, as a good Muslim would never call the Koran fiction.
Hoodlum is just your garden variety secular humanist with an anarchist twist. My guess is his hatred is of all religion, not just Catholicism. But being a secular humanist with an anarchist twist means his locus of authority is himself, hence he is a philisophical liberal; hence there is no way to logically compel him (or her…let’s not be presumptive) as he/she will not view any viewpoint different from their own as valid.
Hoodlum could be 18 or 80. Hoodlum could be a he or she. Hoodlum could be american, british, french, or any other nationality. One thing we can ascertain though, is hoodlum is a narcissist who is best left alone unless he is actaully open to debate and being changed.
