Every teaching of the Church I have ever read on this subject has been extraordinarily beautiful. Still, I pray for all priests who are in conflict with the law of celibacy because “The Lord has sworn, and will not repent of it, Thou art priest for ever according to the order of Melchisedec”.
My liberal heart can’t stand the idea of PRIESTS who cannot minister and cannot be forgiven. Nor can I fathom the idea that anyone would CHOOSE to surrender the gift of priestly celibacy if he had an option….it would be like holding heaven in your hands and exchanging it for earth…
