It appears that three times the charm in regards to making Dr.
Suess’ movies in recent years. The Jim Carrey Grinch move was
just bad, The Cat in the Hat went beyond bad into hateful. I
heard Steven D. Greydanus review on Catholics Answer for Horton Hears a
Who! and I was delighted at the very positive review. I love
his reviews because they are enjoyable in and of themselves even if you
have no desire to see the movie reviewed. This time he gives a review
using Suessian verse and it is a wonder in itself.

Well, if you’re gonna get any Seuss book right on film, “Horton Hears a Who” is exactly the one to get right.
I cannot tell you how happy we are, after the Grinch and Cat movies were sexed up for the big screen (and we’ve seen neither), to see that Horton Hears a Who is rated G! G!!!
However, I’m still going to check Screen-It’s parental review for it, since I was blindsided by a butt-grab in another rated G movie. Just in case, you know.
But this is a start. I’ve saved the link to read the review a little later, and I’m sure we’ll be saving up to bring our girls to see it.
Rated G! Imagine!
Horton’s my namesake, so I’ve always been proud of him. And a prolife message to boot!
I want to see this one…
The CST gave the movie a good review and I took my 4 year old son to see it yesterday.
It was great and he loved it.
The artwork is beautiful and faithful to the original. The improvised screen work and dialogue retained the feel and cadence of the books and Horton’s character is lovable and likable.
Worth every bit of the $15.00 it took to see it.
