March 11, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The
Rainbow Sash Movement, a homosexual activist group, announced their
plans to protest Pope Benedict XVI’s opposition to homosexual behavior
during his April visit to the United States.
The RSM plans to throw ashes at the Pope, because “ashes are an ancient
and appropriate greeting for a sinner who has caused the Church so much
division and pain,” stated the movement.
“We will also be greeting him with whistles; these were used by the
Polish People to show shame for the violation of human rights by the
Communist Government prior to the end of the cold war,” added a RSM
statement.
“We are a community of Catholic GLBT along with our allies who work for
change in the Church. To continue to hide our identity only enables
shame and homophobia. We are committed to working from within
the Church,” says the movement.
Somehow I think they got this whole
concept backwards. Traditionaly ashes were worn as a
sing of our sin and contrition. We don’t throw ashes at
others because we think they they are in sin and don’t have contrition.
By this silly logic counter-protesters could throw ashes at
the Rainbow Sash Movement. Previously they have made a Sash
of themselves and they continue to make an ash of themselves. But I
guess their backwards concept makes change because instead of changing
themselves and growing in holiness, they have decided that the Church
must change.
There press release is rather ironic since
they are upset about the clergy abuse scandal which they said was
caused by clericalism. Yeah clericalism caused the 81 percent
of sex crimes against pubescent boys (Ephebophilia).

Since I have tickets to the Papal mass in Yankee Stadium, I’ll gladly provide assistance to security to help kick these ashholes out of the place.
Um, someone needs to call these folks and let them know that the Pope isn’t Polish. Are they really that out of touch? Guess spending all your time worried about the next squalid sexual encounter blots out all other input.
Let he who is without sin throw the first ashes.
First they made a sash of themselves, now an ash. Hopefully next they’ll just sh.
Yawn. How predictable these people are. I fully expected them to mount some sort of “protest” during the papal visit, so I’m honestly not surprised. I’m sure such groups as Call to Action and NOW will do something equally distasteful as well. We should pray really hard for Benedict’s visit to the U.S., who knows what else he will have to endure?
Darn…I see the “community of Catholic GLBT along with our allies” gets all the press again…
When will the “commununity of Catholic fallen along with our partisans” get some dang press and spe-shul u-nee-forms?
It ain’t fair.
Well, they can’t be very intelligent. Even a child knows you can’t be a member of the ‘home’ team and the visitors’ team at the same time…
Surely there are enough other gigs out there – can’t they find a team that suits them?
“caused so much division and pain?” What, like “fornication is sin” was Benedict’s original idea?
When this doesn’t get the response they want, maybe they can bang their shoes on the table so no one can hear anyone saying anything.
I can just see a conversation between one of these Rainbow Sashers and one of my Polish relatives…
Grandpa Mietek: The Soviets allied with the Nazis, took half our country (and kept it after the war), imposed their rule on the rest of us anyway, slaughtered tens of thousands of my countrymen, and tried to eradicate our language and our faith.
Rainbow Sasher: Tell me about it. The Pope won’t officially endorse my sex life!
Throw ashes at the Pope?? Proves they’re the loons everyone thinks they are:)
I’m hoping they actually do try to throw stuff. It will be a perfect excuse for the Police to escort them out. The last thing we need is for them to disturb the mass.
And we’re to believe these people are just as well adjusted as anyone else…(sigh).
And ironically, should they throw ashes and declare him a sinner, the Pope himself would probably be the first to admit that he, too, is a sinful person and performs acts of penance and charity in atonement for his own personal failings, whatever they may be.
Hopefully, there will be lots of security on hand to shoo their ashes out of there.
Will these idiots in the homosexual ‘movement’ ever grow up?
Yeah, MM from Brooklyn- if I had tickets to the Mass at Yankee Stadium (which I don’t, unfortunately), I’d gladly lend a hand to the security guys to throw these people out bodily! And I’d stick a foot up their ‘a-h’ for good measure!
I’m tired of pussyfooting around these people….
They’re not even PRACTICAL. Come on! Have you ever shovelled ash out of a woodstove and putting it in the ashcan? Unless you’re standing right over it, it’ll miss the target and disperse everywhere.
More likely, they’ll hit some Knights of Columbus or Rosary Society group. Jerks!
