Pope Benedict to show gentle side in U.S. Pontiff first visit begins Tuesday on east coast
Nice to know he is not going to show his harsh evil side and go all medieval on us.
I also think if I read that the Pope was once the "enforcer of Catholic orthodoxy" I am going to be ill. I guess promoting and safeguarding the doctrine on the faith and morals throughout the Catholic world just doesn’t sound as edgy. Enforcer of Catholic orthodoxy makes me want to cue up the soundtrack to “The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly” and see Clint Eastwood with a mitre on. Or maybe to fast forward through Clint Eastwood roles.“You’ve got to ask yourself one question: ‘Do I feel lucky?’ Well, do ya punk theologian?”

CLINT for BISHOP!!
I’ll buy the .44Mag and a few hundred rounds.
Line up the heretics/posers/usual suspects!!
I read that TIME article called “The American Pope” and it actually said, “During 24 years as the prefect of the CDF, Ratzinger earned the nickname ‘God’s Rottweiler,’ savaging suspected heresies, mostly liberal ones, and ending the careers of several old Vatican II allies.”
So there’s the whole “Pope is a dog who can turn on those liberals who trusted him.” Blech.
LOL, I just read an article in the Bergen Record http://www.northjersey.com/news/religion/Restless_US_flock_troubling_for_pope.htmlthat used the phrase “enforcer of church orthodoxy” and I want to know what they mean. That’s up there with “the Pope’s teachings” vs. the Church’s teachings. Oh the secular media!
Any connection between the ubiquitous use of the “label” with the biography called the Vatican Enforcer, by John Allen?
It could have been worse — they could have called him “vibrant.”
How about the Pope as Pale Rider?
I agree with everything else you just said. Maybe we are not so far apart in our doctrinal views…Peace and Grace to you. http://www.ed-hardy.cc ed hardy
