Can’t the Vatican reject this appointment?
Marguerite: Yes the Vatican can reject him.
However, this dissident, heretical, theologian is in certain respects a perfect exemplification of American mainstream society and the Obama, Democrat administration.
Although he embodies everything wrong with American Catholicism, and displays front-and-center, the cancerous tumor that infects her, his role is to represent the state, not the church.
When the Holy Father meets with Diaz, he will be interacting with a man that very much exemplifies the US governing power, and who also happens to be knowledgable about Church teachings.
Who could be a better embodiment of the current “secular” US anti-human-rights, pro-culture-of-death, administration to the Holy See?
If a faithful Catholic were to be selected, the issues that exist between the US STATE and the Vatican STATE, might be subsumed beneath intra-church issues.
Since ambassador is an “of-this-world” role, maybe Diaz is a good choice?

You adulterers! Don’t you know that friendship with the world means hostility with God? So whoever wants to be a friend of this world is an enemy of God.
I feel a certain glee that the Vatican has rejected all of Obama’s candidates for ambassador. This new one is no different from the previous rejects, a pro-abortion Catholic(?). This leads me to think whether a true, real deal Catholic would actually work for Obama.
It is no secret that Obama has successfully driven a wedge among Catholics. On the other hand, God turns around every opportunity into good. Obama is helping to weed out the fruitless branches from the vine.
Douglas Kmiec is staring at his dusty blackberry, silent cell phone, and absolutely quiet home land line, shaking his head in disbelief that after two botched appointments, he still hasn’t received the nod from the administration.
