For years I have been having caption contests where you won nothing but the smiles from others for fun replies. Some blogs such as Brandon Vogt’s excellent blog have been having lots of book giveaways.
Well finally I am having a contest of my own. Discount Catholic Products offered to supply a prize for my readers. Having a devotion to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel I thought a statue of her would be great.
I must saw I am overwhelmed that Discount Catholic Products offered such a beautiful 24″ statue for this contest.
To enter the contest simply:
- Post a comment about why you would like a statue of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel.
- Leave a valid email address to contact you with if you win.
- Enter before midnight on the First Sunday of Advent
This contest is available for international residents and the winner will be notified within 48 hours of the end of the contest
Winner will be chosen using their email via a List Randomizer.

I would like a statue of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, in honor of our mis-carried daughter, whom we named Carmen. Carmen returned to her heavenly home on (as near as we could tell) Our Lady’s feast day in 2008, and was so named for that reason. We know that both Carmen and Our Lady love to intercede for the needs of our family, but this could be a visible reminder of how much we owe them both!
I would like a statue of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel to be put in my room so that I can be more constantly reminded of her presence in my life, protecting and praying for me always.
I would love to win this statue of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, to give to my parents as a thank you for taking in me and my children when we most needed them. My mother especially would love this statue!
She is the patroness of our Parish, our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Littleton, CO.
Well, I feel like others who have more serious needs ought to get the statue, but hey, it’s randomized anyway, so I guess I’m not decreasing others’ chances too much. Anyway, as a student, I have a devotion to Our Lady of Carmel and to the carmelite saints, and it would be awesome to win this nice statue…
Thank you for the chance to win this beautiful statue of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. Our family has a long-history with the Carmelites… being able to display this statue in our home would be an honor.

Exactly what all of my cells were thinking Ben, except for those 92% cells of sinner vic who would be happy if “I” won “IT” so what can me, myself and i say except that “I’M” sure that my 7% spiritual reality cells of “Jesus” will forgive me for also entering the contest. Good Luck to all. 🙂
Peace
I would like to win this statue to put in my bedroom. I need a quiet place for prayer.
I would like this beautiful statue to be a reminder to our family to pray the rosary for our priests, bishops, cardinals and Pope Benedict.
Hello! I would like to win this statue to keep in my home, to remind our family to think of our mother in Heaven. I pray that the person who needs it the most will win it. Thank you!
I would like to put this statue next to a relative’s gigantic flatscreen TV to remind that person about what is truly important. If that relative objects, I’ll tell him the statue might help with the reception.
I thank you for the opportunity to win this gorgeous statue of Our Lady. I would like to have her next to my bed where I can see her no matter where I am in my little apartment to remind me of her love and care for me. God bless you.

What’s this all about NOW Victor?
Jeff! I must be going crazy cause some silly things have been happening lately and “I” can’t explain “IT” all NOW. For example when “I” read the rules for this contest, 100% of me, me and me read that I must enter the contest not before the fifth Sunday of Advent. In reality “I” can NOW see that I simply mistook first to mean fifth bu t “I” truly believed at the time that “IT” read the fifth and my con science, I mean my conscience would not let me sleep until “IT” was corrected.
Longer story short, spiritually and “mental list” speaking, my 99% cells were all jealous of my “ONE” % Soul and they mentally had me convinced that my Soul was not playing fair and my 99% bodily spiritual reality cells were UP SET and really gave me a mental list blast and “IT” would take too long to explain “IT” here.
Anyway Jeff! Sometime next year when and if GOD’s Angels allow me to start my third blog, me, myself and i will try talking about “IT” again bu t until then “I’M” simply going to try and keep my Eyes on “Jesus”.

I’d like to win this statue because it is beautiful and I love Jesus and Our Lady.
The image of mother and child is always so beautiful, none more beautiful than Our Lady and her Son. This would be an awesome addition to our home. Our Lady of Mount Carmel, pray for us!
We got married on the feast of our lady of mt Carmel last year. We move into our first home this weekend and having her statue would make a great start to a family shrine 🙂
This statue is beautiful and I would love to honor it my home. I am a secular Discalced Carmelite and have a strong devotion to our Lady of Mt. Carmel. Thanks for the opportunity!
My wife (an OCDS person) has put in many hours with her community. I would like to give this to her in appreciation for her work.
Beautiful statue…..would give it to my loving parents who were married in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church!
Our Lady of Mt. Carmel is my patroness as I am born on her feast day and I have always been devoted to wearing her Brown Scapular and to reading books by Carmelites, her special children. I have been in the seminary for six years now and she has safeguarded me with her mantle all this time. With this statue, I would seek to honor her, thank her for her protection, remember her more frequently, and enkindle devotion to her in my future parish assignments as a priest.
I work in a Catholic school (St Mary’s) and not all of our classrooms have a statue of Mary. We aren’t able to afford a statue this beautiful, so if I win I would donate this statue to one of our classrooms that does not have one.
I am particularly devoted to Mary under the title Our Lady of Mt Carmel. I have always wanted a statue of her, but they are generally waaay out of my budget.
I have found so much guidance and wisdom reading the works of Carmelites these last few years. Having a statue of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel would be a wonderful reminder to me and to my family to follow the example set by the Saints and honor Our Lord and his Blessed Mother!
I am a Lay Carmelite who does not have my own personal statue of Our Lady of Mount Carmel—so far. For this reason, I would like to have one. This month my Carmelite community is reading about the history of Carmelite devotion to Our Lady.
First of all, thank you for doing this giveaway! I would love a statue of Our Lady of Mount Carmel because for the year of faith, I hope to have a greater devotion to Our Lady. While I wear the brown scapular, I do not actually know too much about Our Lady of Mount Carmel and wish to learn more.
