I read about the play that was scheduled at Most Holy Redeemer parish and San Francisco and hoped that the Bishop would act. Via L.A. Catholic
Good news (click on this post’s title): Archbishop George Niederauer of San Francisco, and formerly of L.A. and St. John’s Seminary here, has stopped de facto homosexual-h.q. Most Holy Redeemer Parish in S.F. from having a play that, said the parish’s bulletin, “explores the subject of homosexuality within a Christian, adolescent context.”
Hmmm: Homosexuals and adolescents — where have we heard anything like that in the Church before?
Wouldn’t it be logical for Archbishop Niederauer now to take the next step and clean house — really clean house — at that parish?
No doubt that would spark a big rebellion there. And it that case, wouldn’t the next logical step for Archbishop Niederauer be to shut down the parish?
After all, lots of bishops are closing parishes these days.
Or… Archbishop Niederauer could place the parish under interdict. (Okay, I can dream.)
By the way, the Fr. Malloy-Gibbons Cooney blogspot (click on this post’s title) is, and has been, doing a masterful job of exposing homosexual activism at Most Holy Redeemer Parish.
Update: Fr. Malloy, SDB reports that the play will be run at the Jesuit University of San Francisco instead.

The independent Pew study commissioned by the USCCB determined that 83% of the victims of sexual abuse by Catholic priests were “post pubescent” (i.e. teenage) boys.
Hmmmmm. Sounds like adolescent homosexuality to me.
This should be mentioned every time there is an opportunity.
Many of you have heard of St. Joan of Arc parish in Minneapolis. Compared to St. Stephen’s in that city, SJA was quite orthodox. But the “Joanies” are much better at publicizing their services.
With respect to cracking down on dissident parishes, 200 of the 250 or so English speaking, mostly elderly, retired Vietnam War protesters in the dissident parish of St Stephen’s staged a walkout when the archbishop began to assert his authority. The world did not come to an end.
An equal number of Spanish speaking parishioners did not leave, and the remaining English speaking parish numbers are slowly increasing. They decided they didn’t need a priest in their lay led community.
The new, young pastor at St. Stephen’s, fluent in Spanish, is celebrating bi-lingual Masses on major feast day in his attempt to create a bi-lingual parish. So far it is working.
Many bishops are terrified of schism. In our case, it is one of the best things that could have happened at St. Stephen’s. And we still pray for their return.
this is so bizarre it must be true:
just can’t make these kind of things up!
oy, vey
Yeah, you can’t say “crazychurch” in this town without people asking if it’s St. Joan of Arc. Unfortunately, St. Joan doesn’t have a lock on liturgical craziness.
Many bishops are terrified of schism.
As are we all, but after years of go-along-to-get-along, bishops are going to have to define the split between those who have chosen Christ’s Church, and those who have chosen to dance before the golden calf of the cult of democratic indescriminateness.
Because things didn’t go badly enough the last time priests promoted homosexual activity amongst adolescent boys….
what next ?..sick/ . a joke? are they going to hold satan discos next ? why dont they turn the church into a car wash , at least something will turn out clean , or just close it, untill the rabble have left;
I wonder if MHR will be the epicenter of the next San Francisco earthquake!! *sigh* That troubled parish needs prayers.
