I need to write a Bishop Martino script. Everyday it would search the internet for Bishop Martino and scrape the story and post it. Bishop Martino makes me miss Archbiship Burke less. Scranton’s Bishop Martino Speaks Out on Misericordia University – Again! This is not a bishop who cares what the media thinks of him, but is truly a pastor of his flock.

Here, in the Diocese of Scranton, he is really enduring a full court press of media attacks against him. Between four Newspapers in the center of the Diocese, a very active Local Talk Radio Station with Local programming, the television of course, and the newspaper’s online presence — some really outrageous reporting and commentary is being aimed at the Bishops and Catholic here on a daily basis.
Talk Radio today focused on how Jesus wouldn’t put up with this attitude, Catholics in favor of the Death Penalty are mortal sinners and Extraordinary Ministers are going to be judging people’s souls. Local TV Weatherman (for crying out loud) mouths off about how we Catholics are so goofy we’ll excommunicate anybody who disagrees like Galileo and Copernicus(?).
The Legislature is drafting a bill to force him to accept a School Teacher’s Union while the same Union claims the support of every ‘progressive’ catholic out there from women’s ordination to pro-abortion ‘catholics.’
I don’t think the Bishop needs or looks for much moral support as he is confident in what he is proclaiming — but it sure is nice for those of us in the trenches to have the vocal cheering for our Bishop from fellow Catholics nationwide.
So even if he won’t say it — I will — thanks for your coverage and support!
