The Battle of Tours (700’s). Charles Martel (last name means “The Hammer”) turned back the Saracens who invaded France via Spain.
The Siege of Vienna (1682). The Polish King John Sobieski, invoking the aid of Our Lady, beat off the Ottoman Turks. It was because of this feat that the Feast of the Most Holy Name of Mary was instituted (September 12).
There are others as well-the Battle of Belgrade (St. John of Capistrano was in that) and the Battle of Malta (John de la Valette, who was the head of the eponmyous Knights of St. John).
Our Lady of the Rosary (and of Victory), help us in the fight against the enemies of your Son and His Church!

I could not get the link.
Are there instances in history when anything other than force turned back Islam?
Obpoet-I can think of these:
