Father Dwight Longenecker relates a story about a scene suggestion made to Mel Gibson for the Passion of the Christ. The scene added was one of my favorite parts of the movie.

I’ve come to appreciate how good filmmakers are able to cause the audience to see something not explicitly set forth. To some, that is just the first raindrop of a thunderstorm. To the rest of us, well, we knew what it really meant.
