San Francisco’s Archbishop George Niederauer tomorrow night will honor a “philanthropist” who, in recent years, has opposed parental notification for underage girls before they have an abortion and supported public funding for embryonic stem cell research. Niederauer will present George M. Marcus with Catholic Charities CYO’s Loaves and Fishes Award at a dinner and “gala” to be held at the Westin St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco.
Well I could see a "Goats and Tares" award being presented instead. A Loaves and Fishes award though is too ironic. In Jesus’ miracle thousands were feed from a small number of loaves and fish and in embryonic stem cell research thousands are killed to cure no one.

Rupert Murdoch strides this earth with the Order of St. Gregory award sought by a California diocese and approved by Rome for having given the California Church millions years ago….they did not check the nature of the newspapers that he made his millions from. Hey…it’s still better than having some of the Renaissance Popes back….everything’s relative when it comes to gaffs from on high. A year after the award, he dumped his long time Catholic wife and married a young employee who today is his touchstone for the China market…being Chinese herself and from Yale. His children don’t call her mom since they are the same age as she. Is there a sterling century once one reads?
Who appointed these people? JPII?
Irenaeus,
He was a JP2 appointment, but B16 sent him to SF to replace now Cardinal Levada. Obviously he got bum gouge or he would have not sent someone who was already a “gay-friendly” bishop there.

What is a ‘bum gouge’?
Abp N got there due to Leveda, and also due to the fact that he AND Mahony are due to retire the SAME year. killing two birds with one stone I guess.
“bum gouge” = bad info
