Our 7-year old loves chicken wings and we just re-heated some for her in the oven. We thought we could deal with it until I remembered her tendency to leave more than 1/2 of the meat…
Dern, that would affect me all year, since I’m single and cook for myself. Not so bad now as earlier today (when I quickly closed the page without commenting). Now I sit here just after midnight breaking my fast on homemade rice balls. Though I did eat part of the rice and filling while making them earlier…
How on earth did I miss that one? Oh well. BMP was a good boy yesterday. I was craving that Krakowska Kielbasa but I steered away.
Today’s Thursday — watch out!

If not for steak and BBQ, I’d consider being a vegetarian. BUT, there’s s’thing about intentionally avoiding s’thing that makes that thing almost an obsession. I remember when I was on a NO refined sugar, almost no carb diet I would become mesmerized by marshmallows in the grocery store. Normally, I don’t even LIKE marshmallows!
So, yeah, it was hard to view a steak yesterday!
Call me a dumb Protestant but it takes me a moment to get the point, I think. In truth, for me it’s just meat. I’ve tried to give up seafood, or at least the Red Lobster, for Lent.
If anything, I’m thinking of all those saints’ relics, hearts and bones and organs, that are perserved in the churches. They may be holy, but they aren’t the prettiest things to look at.
I saw this yesterday and it made my laugh because I saw it at 11:50pm, so my day was pretty much over, but yeah looking at pictures of meat makes me want meat. Oh well I wonder how this will affect me tomorrow on Friday. (I know I should be abstaining from meat on all Fridays, but you know 😉 hehe)

Ummmm…. boy, you have no idea how good the catfood looked this morning!
Jeff, you had me at t-bone.
That was painful….

Technically doesn’t look like a t-bone, but mmmm.
the brat/sausages/dogs look particularly delicious.
Easy, it is already Thursday here in Australia!
That’s just sooooo wrong, Jeff. So. Wrong.
Ew, ew, ew, and ew.
I think I passed.
😉
ARGH…
Sweet dreams, everyone. 🙂 Jeff, you are rotten!
Three words: Vegetarian. Who Cares? lol.
Um, I’m doing an Orthodox-vegan style fast for Lent (on the Western calendar), so I don’t get any of that until, oh, late March. Thanks.:)

I agree with Ma Beck. I may never eat meat again. Maybe.

It’s not the lack of meat that hit me. I am a grazer, meaning I snack all through the day. I really felt that when I cut those out.

Saw this on Post-Ash Thursday….you’re right.
Well, okay…I giggled 🙂
Panda Rosa – you really have missed the point. No meat allowed on Ash Wednesday means that you automatically want some.
We don’t eat the relics of the saints, so that’s irrelevant!

My wife and I are going carne-vale this year, we’ve given up any red-blooded animals until after Mass on Easter morning.
This post isn’t so bad today, but I sure won’t want to check back in about 3 weeks!
