Wife: "Forgive me Father for I have sinned. I just knee’d my husband in the groin in a confessional."

I thought mortification wasn’t recomended as penance anymore? Oh, thats right, you mortify yourself. Yeah, we really don’t need domestic violence in the confessional, how about contrition and forgiveness.

Hehe Melody, I agree. Can you imagine another case where the husband says ‘Forgive me Father for I have sinned, I’ve cheated on my wife’ and the wife’s reaction?
I didn’t know that Jimmy Carter and his wife had become Catholic.
