That debate is available in both audio and video format. It can be listened to or watched on the intercollegiate Studies site:

Well, I did attend it a year ago, but thanks for the link!
One item in the comment box puzzled me–maybe not surprised me, but it was clear enough to make me read it twice:
“I don’t believe in abortion; I just want to be able to choose.”
Every other time I’ve seen someone make that point, it’s always been along the lines of “Well, _I_ wouldn’t, but if someone else felt it necessary, I wouldn’t stop her,” which I think presumes that abortion is just in a free society, even if some people can’t stomach it.
Does this commenter think that abortion is evil, but sometimes a necessary one, or does she just like the idea of not being forcefully prevented from evil things, whether or not she’d want to? There are things I don’t like that I don’t think should be legally denied, but I wouldn’t say I don’t believe in them….
“Choose” what????? She makes it sound like Starbucks or Folgers. Choose to commit rape?
Flapatap – its easy for you to say! You dont know how difficult the decision of raping someone can be for a man! Real life is not that simple and you have to take into consideration people’s circumstance in life. (He may have not had a girlfriend in a long time or something) Its a very difficult decision for a man and it’s his body, he can do with it what he wants. You need to keep your morality off of it.
Me personally, I would never rape but I think it should be a free choice.
(See how ridiculous the COD logic seems when applied to anything else?)
I don’t believe in abortion; I just want to be able to choose.
I think what she meant was “I don’t believe in abortion; I just want to be able to flooze.”
Peter Kreeft has put my confused head back together, via the truth and logic in his books, more times than I can count. Thanks for this tip on a crucial debate.
Regarding Dr K, I think that PC will have to kidnap him from BC or i’m gonna have to hop on the T and take a few courses in Boston. (It’s frustrating when you do have a question for him and you KNOW he’s actually teaching over the border, in person, in the “foreign” state of Massachusetts.
