So, basically, the journalists have no idea what they’re writing about, or at least don’t have the minimum respect for their subject that they would give to a raving jihadist imam.
Yeah, that’s about it.
Are you kidding? Had it been a raving Jihadist imam, he would have been invited to WRITE the piece.
It’s about time limbo was scrapped. I hate that wretched game. Us taller folks are at a disadvantage.
My wife and I lost our first child in my wife’s sixth month of pregnancy. When I told my her about this, she was happy that we might get to see our baby waiting for us in heaven.
This was a stumbling block to my entry into the Church. Fortunately, back in 2002, I found out that limbo had never been a real teaching of the faith. And, in 03, I was received into the Church.
Limbo is not a teaching of the Church, but original sin is, and if there’s anyway to affirm that all unbaptized babies go to Heaven and still affirm original sin in any significant sense, I’d sure like to hear it.
The most traditional priest I know,Fr. Jack Murphy of “Save the Babies”,who prays weekly in front of an abortion mill, has said it plainly, “it’s against the mercy of Almighty God to say that unbaptized babies are condemned”.

I would like to hear it too, but I won’t discount the possibility of an as-yet unrevealed Truth in place to handle babies that we didn’t get to baptize, and that one way or another, God gets them baptized without us. It’s important to remember that not all Truth has been revealed to us.
Karen: I believe you are correct. Jesus said that nobody comes to Heaven except through Him, but he didn’t spell out all His plans! How are we to know how he accomplishes His total redemption? The cross is for all time, forward in history as well as backward. In addition, God is outside of space and time. I trust completely that He has His ways of taking unbaptized infants to Himself. His mercy is everlasting and total. And as you say – all truth is not revealed nor will it be until the end of time.
Limbo does not teach that unbaptized infants are condemned. It teaches that those innocents are “taken unto God” in a sense in that they are given a place of happiness and are not sent to hell. How is this harsh? I, obviously, do not run the show and God may indeed allow unborns to go straight to heaven. How this squares with what is certainly DOGMA (ie. original sin) is not clear to me at this point.
Karen is correct, however, that there are means of baptism unknown that would clear it all up. For instance, could aborted babies undergo a type of Baptism of Blood? Though they do not know what they are dying for . . . I do not know.
One thing is sure, do not go to the mainstream press to find out what is happening in the Holy Church.
