Here is an Interesting article on a physician who became a Jesuit and is also Cardinal George’s personal physician. A priest doctor is a very cool combination. Though it could be disconcerting going in for a checkup. If he calls you back and says I have some news for you, but first let me get out my oil for Last Rites you know it isn’t good news. Though for some getting in an annual checkup and their Easter duty at the same time could be a real time saver.

Physical & metaphysical healing one stop shopping!
In talking of priest-physicians, we ought not forget Blessed Nicholas of Steno, who was not only a bishop and physician, but also an anatomist (he discovered the Duct of Steno which drains the parotid gland!) and a geologist (Steno’s law in crystallography!) – and he was ALSO a convert at age 29. Talk about one-stop shopping!
Think of it in terms of efficiency. The Easter duty (Confession) could have an assigned penance of a procto exam!!
Does this make him a Doctor of the Church? Or only a Doctor of the Archbishop?
