Okay, I’ll take the bait. He’s singing:
“Why do you build me up,
buttercup, baby, just to let me down?
You mess me around!
And then worst of all
you never call, baby,
when you say you will…”
For all we know, he is singing it. Or intoning it.
Um, I meant the Sign of the Cross.
“Now come ON, people, let’s sing it right this time! I don’t want to have to start over again!”
I think it actually looks more like a magic trick. Check out that rising, floating mike.
Makes me think of a suffering Pope who needs prayers.
Benny and the Cardinals singing:
Rockin’ Robin.
The group needs a name. How about Benny and the Beanies?
To the leftover heretics of the sixties, I imagine he is singing “That Was Then, This Is Now.”
Waffling Anglican,
Or Benny and the Jets. It would be perfect if it wasn’t and Elton John reference.
Maybe he is trying out for ‘American Idol’ :o)
Me, I thought he was telling the latecomers to sit down and be quiet. And the gentlemen around him are caught in the act of smacking their foreheads with their palms.
“Oh, kids these days! Always late for everything!!”
Oh, he’s definitely singing “I’m a Soul Man….”
