Here is a strange story a reader sent me. A group of Carmelites bought some land for a new monastery from American Tower Corporation. This land had been on the market for a while when the Carmelites picked it up. When the company found out the land would be quite valuable as a windfarm they started delaying tactics to keep from selling it. The media is using David vs. Goliath as an analogy and I bet David would rather have faced Goliath any day then a flock of company lawyers.

Yah.
But I would LOVE to be David and KO a bunch of them with rocks.
I’d settle for modern rocks, too: 235GR JHP .45 slugs at 800 fps.
The thing is, if the compnay thought it so valuable, why didn’t they develop it as a windfarm in the first place? My heart goes out to the Carmelites; they should be allowed to use what they bought. Because five will get you ten; if American Tower prevails there isn’t going to be a farm, wind or otherwise.
