Sean Cardinal O’Malley moves beyond photoblogging with a great post of spiritual catechesis and commentary on the saints – especially Padre Pio. With all of the media attention of his blog I was hoping he would expand it beyond just photos with travel commentary. This post does that in droves.
Surprisingly they have even enabled comments now and so far no trolls have entered in. Now they just need to get some links up like to the Vatican, his Diocese, and some other good solid links like for example Catholic Answer’s bulletin board.

Read the whole post, but I would like to emphasize this part: “The greatest heresy of the modern age is the denial of sin. We have lost a sense of sin, a sense of the offense it causes to God, the destruction it does to ourselves and our loved ones, the poisonous effects it has on the fabric of society. We are like people with a deadly disease and in complete denial, refusing to admit that we need a physician. We have made such advances in science and technology and have become so blind to the reality of our human nature.”
This message needs to be spread.
It seems to me today’s post was Cardinal Sean’s homily at his Mass at St. Pio’s shrine. What a beautiful message!!! I pray he will emphasize the loss of sin theme in the Archdiocese of Boston and encourage other US bishops to do the same in their dioceses.
