Well, Rome is a small community in Northwest Georgia , in Floyd County. So named because it is built on 7 hills, just like the Rome in Italy. Home to 4 colleges (Berry College, Shorter College, Coosa Valley Technical College, and Georgia Highlands College), this community of 50,000 attracts business and industry including various banks, Suzuki, Neaton, Pirelli, Sara Lee, and is the medical hub of Northwest Georgia – we have more doctors per capita than any other town in Georgia. Unfortunately, St. Peter’s in Rome is the local Episcopal church, but we do have our very own “St. Mary Minor” church (we point out that St. Mary Major is in the Rome in Italy).
