"The Pope, supposedly a highly moral figure who’s being listened to especially in poor countries is committing mass murder with his totally outdated morality codex and his ignorance and lying when it comes to AIDS and condom use; planned and targeted mass murder. To me, Ratzinger is a mass murder of the scale of Hitler and Stalin."

In the story I posted the other day on John Paul II square:
"Delanoe is honoring an assassin," some chanted, saying John Paul’s opposition to condoms, along with other forms of contraception, was responsible for hundreds, even thousands of deaths to AIDS and other diseases.
The mass murderer/assassin meme has been constantly building up steam over the last couple of years. For Example Sir Elton John rant against the Catholic Church and blaming it for the death of 60 friends.
The concept of personal responsibility has been taking increasing hits over the last several decades where someone else is always to blame for the acts of another. If it isn’t the government’s fault a good fallback has been the Vatican. This meme is just so dumb it is like an anti-mystery. The more you think about it the dumber it gets and is laughable on so many levels that it is hard to plumb its stupidity. To believe this you have to believe that people who are not following Christ’s teaching on human sexuality in the first place are going to be deterred by what any Pope has said. That they see Church teaching and come away with a fornication good/condoms bad concept. What it comes down to is that the Church is at fault because they didn’t follow what the Church said. This is like getting a F on a test in class and then blaming the teacher when they choose all the answers the opposite of what the teacher taught.
The mass murderer/assassin meme is really a boomerang ideology. If you can directly call someone an assassin or infer an equivalency with Stalin for teaching something that leads to the death of many then these same activists have much to atone for. In some bathrooms they have little mirrors that on them say "The face of Aids." How about we get some that say "The face of an assassin." and place them in bathrooms. After all only abstinence and true faithfulness in marriage are 100 percent sure ways of not picking up Aids by sexual intercourse. Any other method in less than 100 percent effective and anybody that promotes them has picked some people as acceptable losses. Condom collateral damage. Would anybody allow a loved one in a chamber with nerve gas using a gas mask with the same failure rate as condoms? Yet in reality this is what these activists are proposing. This though does not make these activists Stalins and assassins. Misguided certainly, but if they accept the premise of the meme then they must first accuse themselves.

For The Curt Jester, who said all that needed to be said about the topic. AMEN!
I just do not understand these people. The Church doesn’t want you having sex, straight or gay, outside of marriage, in the first place – so why do you need the Pope’s approval to use a condom when you willfully disregard the first teaching? You’re doing it anyway, so use a condom anyway. My goodness, who cares what the Pope thinks at that point?
Do you really think there are men in Africa saying, “I wanna sex you up baby, if you really loved me you would do it on the first date… but I won’t use a condom because the Pope said not to…”?
The whole idea of personal responsibility and accountability has taken a direct hit and is almost dead. Somewhere there are activists carving out a huge tombstone with RIP on it in preparation for its last gasp.
What Gay activists want isn’t for the Pope to say “use birth control and condoms”. They want him to say – “Do whatever the heck feels good and that you want to do with whomever you wish. It’s all okay with God”
If they manage to swing that one, the next group to activate will be the multiple marriage advocats, the interspecies marriage proponents, and so forth.
These people want morality, personal responsibility, and ethical behaviour to die.
I wonder who they will blame for all their woes when they get their own way?
In all likelihood they will turn about and blame the Pope again because he didn’t protect them from themselves!
The boomerang is giving me a really big headache!

Personal responsibility is a value that no anti-Christian understands.
I did hospice assistance in the early 80’s. One young man dying from aids broke my heart. It was so difficult for him to understand and accept that he was dying. He said “Why is this happening to me. They said it was good”. His friends from his healthy past never came to help him.
This came back to mind when i recently read the Anchoress’ account of her brothers death. The good time guys were gone. I always hear demands for money, power and privilege from homosexual activists and I know the huge effort the Church expends in caring for aids sufferers. I have an honest question. Is there any group of active homosexuals that gives individual care in a private effort with hands on treatment to other homosexuals in the terminal stage of aids?
It has been said:
If everyone listened to the Church, AIDS would never have existed.
When are they going to apologize for creating this mess in the first place?
Excellent question Jack.
And the “Condoms cure all” crowd have imported a South African bishop to ply their b.s. in New York:

It strikes me that perhaps they claim it’s “the Pope’s fault” because the Catholic organizations won’t give out immoral things, thus the people who “need” them can’t get them, thus contract AIDS.
I don’t know if that is actually the situation in real life, but it makes more sense than blaming the Pope for the consequences of immoral actions of people who obviously don’t listen to his teaching!
I never understand this crowd at all. They push charities in Africa to distribute condoms AND set up abortion-on-demand in Africa. So clearly they understand that condoms aren’t effective for birth control. Why would they think they’re effective for preventing AIDs?
And even when shown the statistics of the successful use of abstinence programs to decrease AIDs cases, their reaction is “abstinence is unrealistic” or similar nonsense.
