Victor Lams who has been "too busy oppressing the poor and marginialized of our society by working for a living" has a nice rant on Cardinal Maida working really hard to defeat Proposal 2 that would amend the State Constitution to eliminate affirmative action programs. One Monsignor says "This is not a political issue; this is a spiritual issue." Victor says he is right, just on the wrong side.
Yes considering that once again Catholic Governor and extremely pro-abortion Jennifer Granholm is running once again, of course the diocese decides to spend it’s time promoting programs that fight discrimination via discrimination. Looking through the Diocese’s press releases this isn’t the only hot button issue there is also the Mass Transit Ballot Issue in August 8 Primary. No comment on ESCR, Plan B etc.

Jeff,
Are you in MI?
And btw, I couldn’t get your “Mass Transit Ballot Issue” link to take me to that page.
Peace,
Margo
Margo, the link is to a PDF file of an archdiocese document. I’m in Michigan and this is the first I’ve heard of it. 🙁
Sigh, why is it that everytime MI gets any attention, its because of goofy politicions and clerics or Detroit (the worst-case scenario city of the country)?
Really, the majority of us Michiganians are quite level headed (and emberassed by our so called leaders more often than not)
