Dave Hartman at Catholic Report interviews the Bishop Of Saginaw, Robert Carlson. Bishop Carlson has just returned from a pilgrimage to Rome and while there was asked by Pope Benedict XVI to meet with him. Bishop Carlson is truly an excellent bishop.

Bishop Carlson was our Bishop here in Sioux Falls until asked to shepherd Saginaw by John Paul II. He is the greatest Bishop in my opinion. A great man. He is also a vocations magnet! Look at the # of seminarians since he arrived in Saginaw. When he got there….there was 1! I believe there are over 30 now.
Well, I do hope at some point he asked who he would like to see take the helm in Detroit when Cardinal Maida retires. Lord knows, we still have a ways to go here.
