Patrick from the Paragraph Farmer has an excellent article in the New Pantagruel called Theocracy as a Parlor Game. Patrick makes the point that "the idea of an American Christian theocracy must also be dismissed for political reasons, because American Christians are a fractious bunch." A point that I raised before that Christians can’t even agree on baptizing infants so how exactly are we to impose some monolithic Christian theocracy. Though Patrick states it much better and then goes on to imagine what an actual American Christian theocracy would be like and makes some guesses that are quite at odds with what the impending theocracy nuts would imagine.

I never cease to marvel at how the people who rant and rave about this monolithic “TheChurch” are the same ones who sneer at us for being divided.
