Wondeful family and wonderful examples of living the Catholic faith. I’ve met the family a few times and am excited to see her compete in the Olympics.
SHe was on EWTN’s Life on the ROck recently. quite a cool lady!
Additional on Catholicism in big time sports. I misspent several hours last evening watching Duke and Boston College basketball game. Was impressed when Coach K blessed himself before the tip off. Even more impressed when, with one minute left, and BC closing in, Coach K took out his Rosary and held them in his right hand. Dick Vitale (I think I heard it!) admitted he carries a St. Jude medal. Don’t tell the ACLU.
A correspondent of mine told me about Mrs. Dussault. She has a website with information about her training and also he faith:

Rebecca is my best friend and her husband Sharbel is my big brother. Please keep them in prayer as they are really seeking to glorify God through Rebecca’s skiing.
The incredible story though about them is really far beyond their skiing story. They are two of the most sacrificial people I know. They work hard in our family business (globalshelters.com), traveling, building structures, marketing, book keeping. Sharbel and Rebecca both help my mother care for our younger brother Chariton who is totally handicapped. After my dad died in 1998 Sharbel and Rebecca have been such a huge help to my mother and a strong link uniting our family. They work so hard.
We grew up as a tight family (I am one of six kids). Sharbel and I begged my mother to homeschool Rebecca with us. We were incredibly close. Rebecca and I would spend hours on the trampoline building up our friendship, deepening our faith, and talking about my brother. From 5th grade on they where a couple. Sharbel and Rebecca have such a great wealth of gifts to share as they truly seek to be holy and full of Christ’s love for all.
Blessed Frissati is really the perfect patron for them.
Please pray for them. Cross Country Skiing is the toughest sport on the planet in my mind…she will really need graces to help her reach the top 15 in the Olympics.
