One of my readers whose name I can not reveal has sent me information on a significant scoop. I have received a copy of a letter from Cardinal Angelo Sodano to Justice Kennedy and have verified its authenticity through some of my sources. You can see a copy of the letter yourself here.
Must be seen to be believed

MWAHAHAHAHA!
Hilarious!!! How I wish it were true, absenting the (intentional) misspellings. I’ve been after this guy for years. He should have been excommunicated long before he got to Lawrence v. Texas. A bona fide moron.
This is really neat, especially with Pope Benedict waving to his left.
Thanks be to God!
LOL! Like the first poster, I almost wish this were true. Certainly, if the Supreme Court could find a right to abortion in the U.S. Constitution, it could just as easily turn around and find some emanation of a penumbra that implies the supremacy of the Catholic Church and her moral teachings!
Seriously, though, while judicial activism is not the way to go about catholicizing the nation, we mustn’t forget that it is our duty to hope for and work for the recognition of the Kingship of Christ in both our society and our government. A good source on this matter is the encyclical “Quas Primas” of Pope Pius XI, which he wrote when he instituted the feast of Christ the King.

‘…Thus the empire of our Redeemer embraces all men. To use the words of Our immortal predecessor, Pope Leo XIII: “His empire includes not only Catholic nations, not only baptized persons who, though of right belonging to the Church, have been led astray by error, or have been cut off from her by schism, but also all those who are outside the Christian faith; so that truly the whole of mankind is subject to the power of Jesus Christ.”[28] Nor is there any difference in this matter between the individual and the family or the State; for all men, whether collectively or individually, are under the dominion of Christ. In him is the salvation of the individual, in him is the salvation of society. “Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given to men whereby we must be saved.”[29] He is the author of happiness and true prosperity for every man and for every nation. “For a nation is happy when its citizens are happy. What else is a nation but a number of men living in concord?”[30] If, therefore, the rulers of nations wish to preserve their authority, to promote and increase the prosperity of their countries, they will not neglect the public duty of reverence and obedience to the rule of Christ. What We said at the beginning of Our Pontificate concerning the decline of public authority, and the lack of respect for the same, is equally true at the present day. “With God and Jesus Christ,” we said, “excluded from political life, with authority derived not from God but from man, the very basis of that authority has been taken away, because the chief reason of the distinction between ruler and subject has been eliminated. The result is that human society is tottering to its fall, because it has no longer a secure and solid foundation.”[31]
‘When once men recognize, both in private and in public life, that Christ is King, society will at last receive the great blessings of real liberty, well-ordered discipline, peace and harmony….’
It’s going to be truly ludicrous if we can’t get rid of Roe vs. Wade with five (count em, 5) Catholics on the bench.
If it happens that ought to convince Rome that Americans are lunatics if they aren’t sure of it already!
… thus paving the way for Santorum in 2008.
What a brilliant plan! who would have guessed ?(ha ha ha)
Now, did John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, and the rest of the C3 (Clandestine Catholic Caucus) get similar letters? It’s time for these folks to start actin..er, voting like catholics.
Not only is the cafeteria closed, the tunnel is open!
LOL! Very funny!
Maybe someone should leak this to the Guardian. They’d be all over it… well, until someone actually called for substantiation.
Jeff you are one sick puppy. For one fleeting moment I thought, maybe, just….
now that was funny. Good one. If only, if only….
Funny stuff. Would you mind checking out my new podcast for Catholic Homeschoolers. I have a mini version of my conversion story on there. Give me your feedback. Thanks!

Beautiful and hilarious. You da man!
You do, of course, realize that the Left hasn’t been as paranoid since they thought that the film, “Easy Rider” was a documentary. This kind of post will only increase their paranoia and may send many to the travel agents for flights out of the U.S. Watch for great real estate deals in Cambridge, Hyde Park, Madison, Ann Arbor, and Greenwich Village.
Again, you have way too much free time on your hands. Don’t you have a “honey-do” list?

Not ludicrous at all. Anthony Kennedy, to whom the ‘letter’ is addressed, wrote the opinions in Casey v. Planned Parenthood, (in which he just about demanded that anti-abortion activists face the facts and forget about it), and Lawrence v. Texas, which struck down a Texas law outlawing homosexual activity.
His being Catholic is merely incidental.
Ah, if only it were true! 🙂
Love the dancing Alito. Jeannine is right…with our Papa waving on the left, it’s like they are doing some secret dance routine that only Catholics are allowed to know.
First, SCOTUS, next, THE WORLD! [insert evil laugh here]
I sent a copy of the letter to my Opus Dei priest. Oh, it’s a proud day!
What a stitch. I could tell without reading a word that it was a forgery, though, by two things. One is a trade secret, so I’ll keep it to mysely, but the second was a dead give away: the signature was legible. No respectable curialista has a legible signature.
Ed,
Though in this case that is his real signature.
Hey Curt Jester
Better get ready to see this letter in the next “Chick”/”Alberto” comics.
Please try to get some royalities if they do.
Good luck
