It's December so back to Winter Soldier

I heard this on the radio earlier today and part of the transcript for Kerry "Face the Nation" appears at Captain’s Quarters

Sen. KERRY: …And there is no reason, Bob, that young American soldiers need to be going into the homes of Iraqis in the dead of night, terrorizing kids and children, you know, women, breaking sort of the customs of the–of–the historical customs, religious customs. Whether you like it or not.

Now what I thought was pretty funny was when I first heard this following line.

Sen. KERRY: …Iraqis should be doing that.

I guess he wants Iraqi’s to step in and start "terrorizing kids and children" instead. It will be much longer until Sen. Kerry says about our soldiers in Iraq that they "razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan." History is repeating itself, this time it is almost the whole Democratic party that is doing what Sen. Kerry did during the Winter Soldier investigation. Sen. Kerry then as now wanted an immediate withdrawal. When he testified he said that only 3,000 people would need sanctuary or to leave the country. Considering that over a hundred thousand fled by by air and sea. Of those not lucky enough to escape over a million South Vietnamese were subsequently massacred. Whether you agree or disagree with the justness of the Iraq war I think is immaterial to our current presence in Iraq. Pulling out might not release the same level of massacre that occurred in Vietnam, but it certainly would not lead to stabilization of the new government and it would embolden the terrorists to keep up their attack. Premature withdrawal is victory interruptus. History will tell if we have been a midwife to a new democracy, but I do know no good midwife leaves at the first signs of the baby’s head as it emerges.
