From an article about
Sister Marie Clare Klein who became a nun at 17.
When did you realize you wanted to be a nun?
I fell in love with Jesus. When this happened, everything changed, and I wanted my whole life to be about Jesus. I am not saying that at that moment I became perfect! It’s just that at a certain point, I realized that nothing matters without Him. … There is no meaning, no purpose in life without God. …
I discovered that Jesus was calling me to offer my life in a way that many people (including myself, at the time) do not understand.
What attracted you to the Felician Franciscan Sisters? I saw their love for Jesus in the Eucharist, their dedication to service of the church, their devotion to the Blessed Mother, the centrality of Scripture, and the fact that the religious habit is still a reality in the community. As a young person of the current generation, signs and symbols are a necessity to me. I need to know and see the difference between one lifestyle and another, and I understand the importance of a visible witness.
...What special gifts do you feel you bring to your job?
I have an insatiable love for Jesus and a deep desire for the truth! This, combined with an unquenchable curiosity, a bit of enthusiasm, a touch of discipline, and the desire to develop inquisitive minds is part of who I am. … I hope and pray that my students will benefit from what I have to give them.

Beautiful woman, should be a poster for the Catholic church as well as Father Corapi, why not publicize some of these as what the church has to offer instead of some of these far left clergy we get so often?
I do think that Pope Benedict, who I think will and is already 100x better of a Pope than JPII but wont win any popularity contests, will not tolerate the nonsense of the far left and will right the church to the point that his successor will continue the course
Great story

I agree.
She sounds awesome, someone who is where she should be.
Now, let me just take a second to ask why people like John have to hijack threads to make off topic and incendiary comments like the above about Pope John Paul II.
Because according to the playbook (made dogmatic by Heaven knows what) the only solution to looney Leftism is immediate slash-and-burn. I happen to believe JPII recognized these goofy things as a vapid fad, and rather than kick the hornet’s nest, prudently decided to let it wither (as it is) of idea starvation, and I believe it is weak enough now that a harder approach can be taken. JPII followed by BXVI is a perfect combination. Almost as if someone is watching out for us. 😉
Hey, I saw her at Mass here in our tiny little parish last year! I think she was on retreat at nearby retreat-house run by some Felician sisters. I saw her at Mass all week long.
I was with my 2-year old, and I remember the young sister who took the time after Mass to come and dote on my boy. What a beautiful young role model for her students.
I hope nobody takes this wrong, but Sarah, are you sure it was THAT sister you saw at Mass? I mean, they all DO look alike, when they wear their proper habit that is! When I first saw the picture, I thougt it was a Franciscan out here in Kansas City – no kidding, she really did look like Sr Doris, but alas, it was not her, just another faithful daughter of the Church and of St. Francis!

Hijack what? Just because I dont particularly care for JPII and his style of leadership, I am hijacking a thread? I respect B16 for refusing to participate in the Assisi heresy when JPII did it not once but twice
And the fear we should have is what is to come after him as he is an old man, and I see no one on the horizon who understands what the faith and tradition of the church really mean anymore
This is why I for one are please to see a sister like Sister Marie discuss her call. If you want to protect your liberal left than so be it
If you want to protect your liberal left than so be it
If you will read again, you will see it is absurd to call it my liberal left as I referred to it as “looney Leftism”, “goofy things”,and a “vapid fad”. This movement is dying, dying hard, and I will dance on its grave. My issue was with the idea that we have to break out nuclear weapons to fight it. That is, dissenters live off resistance. Take that away and they lose focus and die. I’ll grant that this is completely debateable. But again, my issue is with the idea that the only solution is slash-and-burn.
Wow, who said the Church wasn’t still raising up saints today? I feel Sister Marie Clare is a new St. Clare in the making. I pray she brings many souls to Christ and His Church through her apostolate, and that her community recieves many more holy vocations such as her.
Yours in Christ,

I agree with your statement
God bless

Yes, Fr. Totton, it was her. The Felician sisters out of Livonia,MI also run the retreat house located near our parish in Holly, MI, and their sisters often visit our parish while on retreat. She is the youngest one I have seen. I shall not forget her smile.
Hey, recently, I just realized those same things as she did… it makes me wonder… I have been considering a vocation, too, but am unsure… and I’m 16.
Praised be Jesus Christ! Many greetings in His Name! This is Sr. Clare Marie. I don’t mean to intrude, but I couldn’t help it. Wow, when I agreed to be interviewed, it was for the purpose of evangelization, but I never believed it would spread this far!
I just wanted to answer a few questions.
YES, Sarah, I was the young Sister who was in Holly. That is our retreat house, and when I was a novice, I went there for a period of ten days before I professed vows. And yes, I dote on children…I just love little ones! (and not-so-little-ones, too).
I can NEVER turn down the chance to invite young people to pray and discern God’s Will for their lives, so this is for the young woman who feels that little “twinge” that I felt at the age of 15. I am available whenever you need to talk. God bless you and know that I am praying for you and all young people. The world needs us…God needs us!!!!! Let’s journey in holiness together! A blessed Advent to all of you!
In Christ,
Sr. Clare Marie Klein, CSSF

Sr. Clare- thank you! I will get around to contacting you. Please pray for me!
Praise Jesus!
I will definitely pray for you…every day, especially at Mass!
God bless you!
God Bless you, Sister, and the young woman posting here who is considering a vocation to religious life.
We need more young, joyful, holy nuns!
I will pray for you both, and please pray for me and my small family. We have two boys, a daughter in heaven, and one on the way. Please pray that God, if it be His will, calls one (or all!) of my children to the priestly or religious life. Amen.
Praise Jesus!
I will DEFINITELY pray!
God bless you!
