*shakes head* Interesting argument, but there’s just a wee tiny problem with it. The same people who stripped all the other holidays from the year were pretty much against Christmas too. It was illegal to mark Christmas in New England for its first years. Christmas in the United States was in *revival* for a while and much of its religious-tradition-less status comes from that gap in the colonial period. Getting rid of Christmas isn’t the logical end of the attacks on the other feast days, it’s where we’ve already been.
