Plato’s Stepchild tagged me with the following meme.
The rules are as follows:
1.Go into your archives.
2. Find your 23rd post.
3. Post the fifth sentence (or closest to it).
4. Post the text of the sentence in your blog along with these instructions.
5. Tag five other people to do the same thing.
So from the post Top ten list for you might be in a "spirit of Vatican II" parish if:
Everybody but a priest or deacon delivers the homily.
Surprisingly this was my first attempt at humor on my blog and that it actually took me 23 posts before my inner jester took control.
I will inflict this on A Wing and a Prayer, Committed to an Institute, GKC’s Favourite, The World According to Me , Thoughts of a Regular Guy.

Here’s mine:
Isn’t this the same formula someone used to demonstrate that “Shapeskeare” wrote the Bible? Something like in the 41st Psalm the 41st word from the start was “shape” or “shake” and the 41st word from the end was “spear” or “scare” or something. Chesterton had something funny to say about this… oh, sorry, I was trying to respond to your request.
Actually what this little experiment will prove is that all bloggs are written by King David, who also wrote the 23rd Psalm (sometimes called the 22nd if we are on a little-endian OS)…
OK I don’t know if I have 23 posts yet, but I will do what I can. Also, I should point out that I always use the UDP protocol in doing these things: it only goes one way. If someone else reads my blogg, they are free to try it, or not. I’ll never know… Hee hee.
Regarding the Spirit of V. II parish and everybody but the priests and deacons delivering homily, I am reminded of a crack made by one individual about the state of the church in the “fresh air” (yeah, from a garbage dump) days immediately following the council:
The only people that want to be married are the priests, the only people that want to be priests are the nuns and the only people who want to wear clerics are the permanent deacons!
Wow, Jeff, I had no idea you’d noticed my blog! Done. My 23rd post is not the one I’d direct people to if I had to pick just one.
“He’s pro-life, which I like, but he’s pro-gun and has almost no political experience.”
Gee, Funky Dung, I’m glad it wasn’t the 22nd post!
There’s humour in your blog???
Thanks for the tag. The 5th sentence from my 23rd post:
“Peace.”
‘Tis good to have something to say.
