The first openly gay bishop in the Episcopal Church is predicting a division in the Anglican Communion two years after U.S. church leaders triggered global outrage by approving his election.
“This is at least as much about power and control as it is about theology and Scripture,” New Hampshire Bishop V. Gene Robinson told The Associated Press in an interview. “It’s about who’s going to be calling the shots, and who’s going to be in and who’s going to be out….” [Source]
Predicting a split in the Anglican communion is kind of like predicting sunrise.

When one hears a statement such as that, the crass reaction is “He has a firm grasp of the obvious”, which is not a compliment.
I wonder whether gender bending deprives its adherents of intellectual acuity. It’s as if loss of moral compass detracts from reasoning. Or, the end (not normalization, but sanctification*, of sodomy) justifies the means (destruction of the Church).
* Perversion to the nth degree. These evil simps have essentially put the Bible through a shredder.
Another thought: Would the Church of Erstwhile Sassenach Hegemony make a bishop of a lout that deserted his wife and three children for a lovely, younger woman?
T. Shaw, regarding your statement: “It’s as if loss of moral compass detracts from reasoning”... older catechisms used to say that sin darkens the intellect and weakens the will.
Good News! THIS is the stuff that makes us Anglicans aware that we need the POPE. Hard lessons, but many of us are catching up. Pray that we see the truth.
power, greed, total control …. hmmm, where is the holy servant?
SCRIPTURA + TRADITIO + MAGISTERIUM = ORTHODOXIA
SCRIPTURA + INNOVATIO – MAGISTERIUM = MORAL KABOOM
“Predicting a split in the Anglican communion is kind of like predicting sunrise.”
That’s the funniest post you’ve written, IMO, and I’ve been reading you for about a year and a half. I realize it’s only a sentence, but that just nailed it for me.
I know this isn’t a very P.C. thing to say; but I bet you couldn’t have found a “gayer” looking pic of the “bishop.” The expression on his face is just killing me.
“predicting a split in the anglican communion is kind of like predicting sunrise”
CLASSIC.
We’ve got to start advertising the Anglican-Use to these people. There’s such an opportunity.
Most Inapropriate use of the model B9 series Robot ever…!!! You should have instead had “DANGER, B9 Robot! DANGER!!!” I mean, which should we fear more? A friendly robot with an easily identifiable and removable power pack that only goes bad when programmed to; or a gay episcopal “bishop”?!
I see what is going on over at the ECUSA as a cautionary tale for the our church. If all the progressives got there way (Thankfully they won’t) we could be in just as much trouble.
It is time to put out the lifeboats to the Traditional Anglicans and bring them to safety. If VII was supposed to make reunification easier, now is the time to find out if the mayhem it caused was worth it.
Apparently the Anglican Church in America (ACiA) is already in discussion with Rome. Things are begining. We need to be there for our tortured brethern. Let us pray for those who are seeking unity and that unity brings strength to the bride of christ the church!
I’m sorry but the look on your “bishop” here is screaming, I’m a Simpleton!
It won’t be flower pot holding in Assisi that has been the result of their conversion to the faith, but the disasterous effects of separating from the True Church.
Instead of accomodating them with their own ‘particularity’…..how about converting the Anglicans?
Robinson had the audacity to declare his election as bishop was the work of the Holy Spirit.
What was it Jesus said about blasphemy against the Holy Spirit? I wouldn’t want to be Gene Robinson when I die.
