Here is an excellent article in The Tablet on Fr. Fessio that provides a good short biography on him.

God bless Fr. Fessio. I’d take up a second job if one of my children said they wanted to go to Ave Maria College.
I guess that makes two of them.
“excellent article” and “The Tablet” do not ordinarily go together but I shall follow your link all the same…
Better than one might expect from the Tablet in some ways (I read it every week as a ‘know-your-enemy’ tactic), but note the slant. It becomes particularly obvious when complaining about the appalling way in which Fr Fessio stopped other faculty members from saying Mass at the Ignatius Institute (gasp!). We know only too well why that was, of course, having suffered Mass at the hands of those who think it’s a community knees-up, but the writer makes it sound as though Fr F was preventing the guys saying Mass at all. (Presumably there was no particular reason why priests not working in the Institute should say Mass there – plenty of other chapels in the university, I should have thought.)
Jesuits and liturgy…Jesuits and liturgy…sheesh.
Ok, here’s a joke.
You know you’ve been to a good Benedictine liturgy when there is a quiet solemnity and everything is precise as can be.
You know you’ve been to a good Franciscan liturgy when you feel afterward that you are one with Brother Sun and Sister Moon.
You know you been to a good Jesuit liturgy when…no one gets hurt.
