Mother Angelica’s Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration is having a vocation crisis. Luckily Bishop Olmstead has offered them a place for a new foundation because with over 40 nuns they "were bursting at the seams." Their crisis seems to have been avoided for now. Desert nuns via Quodlibeta.

I love it!! God bless all contemplative nuns many times over. May he especially bless those who remain faithful and contemplative!
I don’t get it. Why don’t they just build a prayer labyrinth? It’s gotta be cheaper than a whole convent.
SAM,
Good idea! I suggest you email them and tell them that. I’m sure Mother Angelica herself will respond! (Be sure to have your pith helmet and flak vest ready)
How can we get this word out? Many Catholics don’t read the blogs and just believe what the MSM throws at them. They honestly don’t believe it when they are told of the amazing successes of orthodox religious orders.
Another thought….don’t those young sisters look so beautiful and happy???? Compare that to some of the angry messages we hear so often.
Jeff,
Thanks for posts like these. Truly this is where the hope of the Church resides. Women (and men) like these remind us that while our world may tell us we must constantly be up and doing stuff in order to be successful, one can be far more successful and effective as a human through perfecting our union with God in silent contemplation. If we had no orders like these, the world might have self collapsed already, because while apostolic zeal is important, it is contemplation that connects us to our ultimate goal and gives us the strength to endure here.
The Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist in Ann Arbor, Michigan are also having this same vocation crisis!
