"Mrs. Schiavo’s appearance to me was very calm, very relaxed, very peaceful," Felos said. "I saw no evidence of any bodily discomfort whatsoever."
Her room had been decorated with flowers, soothing music was playing, and someone had placed a stuffed animal, a tabby cat, under Schiavo’s arm, Felos said. [Source]
Now why exactly does Felos mention these details. If what they have said is true why would Terri need soothing music, flowers or a stuffed animal?
In this case they often mention Terri’s supposed wishes that she wouldn’t want to live in this condition. I wonder if they also believe that she would want her parents, siblings and friends to suffer so much watching her slowly die through this court-ordered murder by dehydration? Watching her family through this last week makes it easier to meditate on Mary’s view of the cross and some inkling of what she must have felt.

When I read that, I recalled the scene in “Soylent Green”, when Edward G. Robinson, after getting his, uh, notification, reported to the execution center. He laid himself down on a platform, at which point some sort of IMAX-type film starts playing – flowers in the breeze, bees, birds, deer, while some non-descript happy music was piped in. How naive; how quaint. In the 70’s it was thought that a government-mandated euthanasia program had to pay some notice to a human being’s sensibilities, but we know better now, don’t we?
“Flowers” “Music” “Stuffed Animal”
“Piss” “Shoes” “Raining”
Add to that a few doses of morphine….just in case?
They are really dangerously close to the slope here and they know it.
How can they admit that Terri might be feeling something like pain when they’ve insisted all along that she is “vegetative?”
Michael insists that his compassion for Terri is driving him to pull her feeding tube, “Because she didn’t want to live this way”.
Oh really?
A truly vegetative state would render that person unable to experience “the meaningless of existence” or any physical pain. So his argument falls apart. He is not relieving her of suffering only causing more suffering to her parents who see the spark of her life being slowly snuffed out. What a tragedy.
Meanwhile, as she dies, she does so without the loving arms of her parents. My hope is that the nursing staff is able to provide some comfort to Terri. And I’m sure that the Angels of the Lord are ministering to her spirit.
This is done NOT for Terri—but for us–the public–to make us think—Ooohhh how nice to die with flowers and music and a teddy bear—–this is a good thing!!!!
How often did Michael Schaivo bring Terri flowers when she was on the feeding tube?
This is a show for the public to make Michael look caring and compassionate.
The pro-euthanasia nabobs are illogical.
The say they need to end her life to end her suffering.
But then they say she isn’t suffering while being starved to death.
Mr. Spock would be giving them all vulcan death grips just to shut them.
