Porter told LifeNews.com that she and a friend went to an event the Kerry campaign had scheduled in Tampa. She brought along a sign that simply read, “My abortion hurt me.”
She hoped Kerry would see it, but knowing only a limited number of people were being allowed inside the event, her best prospects were to show it those attending.
“I almost didn’t go because doubt and fear was beginning to set in,” Porter said. “But I went to hold my sign for the people walking in. I did not go as a Bush supporter or as a Republican, but as a woman hurt by abortion.”
Dozens of people walked by and saw her sign.
…Porter tells LifeNews.com that one detractor told her he wished the abortion had killed her. His wife elbowed him in the stomach afterwards.
…”Then it happened,” Porter explains. “He reached up to shake a hand in the back and his eyes went up to my sign. He read it and then he looked into the crowd to see who was holding it — and he looked me directly in the eyes.”
“I hope he saw my pain. I was not angry, just pleading with him to understand. You could see the shock and surprise on his face,” Porter said.
But within seconds, a Kerry campaign staff member approached Porter and grabbed her sign.
“You can’t have that sign here,” the Kerry staffer said.
The sign tore and Porter let go. After he had possession of it, the Kerry staffer “tore it to pieces” and walked away. “He wouldn’t even let me have the pieces,” Porter said.

So much for John Kerry’s vaunted personally opposed position on abortion. Liberal Brown Shirts will not allow any expression outside of the Democrat’s dogma on abortion.

Hey, Jeff:
Be careful. There was quite the kerfuffle [or is is kerfluffle? I digress.] over at Mark Shea’s blog several weeks ago about the use of the term “brown shirts.” It would seem that any use of that particular term which is not linked directly to Krystal Nacht or WWII or authentic, card-carrying anti-semitic Neo-Nazis is an illegitimate use, according to the Thought Police who patrol St. Blog’s. Mark uses the term frequently to describe gay activists, and their activities which promote their agenda at the expense of silencing, criticizing, or labelling [as intolerant bigots, mind you] any who would oppose them. Many people, of course, think that the term “brown shirts” has evolved, and can be used appropriately in even the context you have here. Just be ready for someone to take exception.
So much for the “big tent.” Not like it’s something we didn’t already know…
The dictionary says “kerfuffle,” but I know of many, such as In The Shadow of Mt. Hollywood, who got it from another prestigious source, who say “kerfluffle.” That’s got to be high on somebody’s list of words that are just plain fun to say…
Either way, that was horrible.
Fr. Stanley,
I am no stranger to Mark’s blog. In fact I designed a Brown Shirt indicator graphic shown on his site.

Of course liberals never ever evolve a term. Liberals have turned fascist from “movement, or regime that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition”
to “any Republican that opposes us” They don’t seem to find any irony in the fact that fascists wanted government controlled business with forceful actions against anyone that opposed them. Sounds pretty close to the type of socialism that that modern Democrats ensue where every aspect of business should be regulated and any violations result in fines or jail.
The funny thing about that “personal opposition” is that it has to be expressed, in word and deed, so as to make the “opponent” indistinguishable from a supporter of abortion on demand.
lebensunwertes Leben files just keep growing.
“Brown shirts” fits these actors to a “T” (pun intended). This is an excellent example of a typical brown shirt tactic. I take no exception, and I take exception to anyone who does take exception….
