I just some some video of Sen. John Kerry from today where he seems to be reacting to the articles recently on his support of abortion and his being at odds with his professed Catholic faith.
“Some people in this country believe that life begins at conception and ends at birth.”
This line was delivered in such a dead-panned way that I longed for the charisma and excitement of Al Gore. Now of course Kerry is personally opposed to abortion and believes that abortion is wrong as a matter a faith. You just would never know that by his cuddying up to pro-abortion groups and his attack on pro-life groups. This is also a rather stupid knock against pro-life groups. By a large majority those that are pro-life are also the same people involved in orphanages, free medical clinics, shelters, and food kitchens. I don’t remember ever driving by a NARAL, Planned Parenthood, ACLU, or a Americans United for Separation of Church and State, or any other liberal institution’s food kitchen. Before Mr. Kerry might attack pro-lifers for not offering support for others he might look at his own record, like one year as a Senator he gave a whopping $135 to charity and also bought a $8,600 imported Italian motorcycle.
In a story I posted about in April of last year I also noted another episode of Senator Scrooge:
At a recent charity event for Holy Name Parish School in West Roxbury, Kerry was among a slew of politicians, businesses and others who chipped in items for a “Reach for the Stars” auction.
So what did Kerry offer?
An 8 x 10 autographed photo – of himself.
The winning bid was a grand total of $18, according to sources. That would pay for about one chapter of a textbook.
I will be casting my vote for Senator Kerry, hopefully my vote will help to keep him only a senator.
