case on appeal brought by abortion supporters against the “Choose Life” license
plate. The license plate is on the road in six states – Florida, Louisiana,
Mississippi, Alabama, Oklahoma and Hawaii. The plate was approved in seven
states, including South Carolina where it’s being held up by a lawsuit brought
by Planned Parenthood based on the same argument in Louisiana case. “I’m
confident that South Carolina’s tag will be freed up here pretty soon,” said
Russ Amerling, national publicity coordinator of ChooseLife, Inc. Proceeds from
the tag, which costs $22, will be used “to facilitate and encourage adoption as
a positive choice for women with unplanned pregnancies” through donations to
“maternity homes, crisis pregnancy centers and certain non-profit adoption
agencies.” [Full story]
