Georgia legislators will introduce
a bill early next month that refers to abortion as an ”execution” and will
require any mother seeking an abortion to go to court to obtain a death warrant.
”A mother would have to argue why
the child should die and why her rights would take priority over the rights
of the child,” said Rep. Bobby Franklin, R-Marietta, who sponsored the legislation.
Once a mother filed for a death
warrant, a guardian would be appointed to protect the rights of the unborn child.
That guardian would be authorized to demand a jury trial in which the rights
of the unborn child would be balanced against the rights of the mother seeking
to have the ”execution” performed.
”It’s a grotesque violation of
a woman’s right to choose,” said Ebony Barley of the Georgia Abortion and Reproductive
Rights Action League.”

The language in this law reflects what is actually happening, but what are the
chances this could actually pass? They should name this the “Right to choose
execution law”, that would really tweak those abortion supporters. My solution
would be a nine month waiting period for approval of an abortion. Another idea
would be to put airline security checkers at the entrance at all abortion clinics,
an ultrasound machine vice an X-RAY machine could be used. For those patient
enough to brave these security checkers, going through that line would give
them plenty of time to think (hours and hours) about it and the ultrasound would
smash the lie about their child being just a product of conception.
