(CNSNews.com)- Disability advocates and pro-life groups
are comparing the process of genetic selection to Nazi eugenics after a scholar
from the National Institutes of Health said America would benefit from aborting
the blind and disabled.
In a speech earlier this month at the University of Rhode
Island, biomedical ethicist Dan W. Brock said his views are not discriminatory,
and he said any decision must be left to parents, without government
intervention.

I remember reading an article
years ago called “Are biomedical ethicists ethical?”, and the answer continues
to be no. Should these unethicists with a disabled conscience be murdered for
their moral handicap? He qualifies his statement with leaving it up to the
parents. How many parents were initially upset to learn their child was going to
have a disability only to find out later the great joy and love that comes from
raising a disabled child. Some of these parents would never have learned this if
they just aborted the child. Would Beethoven’s parents have kept their child if
they would have known about his numerous
disabilities?
