Stopes study, said the figures appeared to show a small rise in opposition to
abortion which was significant.
…The Guild of Catholic Doctors said it was “surprised but delighted” to see
that the number of doctors opposed to abortion was so high.
“These doctors do not have to be Catholic to have an objection. A lot of
doctors who are not opposed to the principle of abortion are very unhappy to see
it used as an extension to contraception,” said Dr Michael Jarmulowicz, the
master of the guild.
“They do not feel happy about social abortion, especially when they may see
the same woman two or three times,” he said. [Full
