Somebody found my site last night searching for “Conservative Catholic Anger” and as Steven Riddle of Flos Carmeli notes the odd synchronicity about anger at Christian Conscience.
Maybe there is a whole market of angry Catholics to be catered to out there? There seems to be a lot of Catholics out there who are disillusioned by their local parishes, dioceses and the seeming inaction of the Vatican. Luckily our hope isn’t in this world and that there are many people working to do their best for God and neighbor. I was thinking of starting a Grunge Rock group to minister to this group of people and with respect to Kurt Cobain (may God grant him eternal rest), here’s my first song.
TITLE: Smells Like Vatican II Spirit
See the font is full of marbles
Where is the tabernacle?
The music is lame and not heavenly
No songs before nineteen seventy
halo, halo, halo, how low? (x3)
halo, halo, halo!
(Chorus)
The Mass is Holy, it’s not pretentious
Here we are now, don’t entertain us
How about praying and some reverence
Here we are now, don’t entertain us
A Chasuble
A Dalmatic
A Surplice
Oh my heretics!
Yay! (x3)
Liturgical dance is for the birds
I just want to hear His words
The sermons leave so much to desire
I wish that we were already set afire
halo, halo, halo, how low? (x3)
halo, halo, halo!
(Repeat Chorus)
The Church it looks like a cinder block
And the devotions, all are mocked
Pro-abort and is a Eucharistic Minister
Isn’t it all just a little bit sinister?
halo, halo, halo, how low? (x3)
halo, halo, halo!
(Repeat Chorus)
